Creating A Site Plan

Planning is key, although my grandfather said things will never work out if you plan ahead. With a strong structure you can usually get through the most difficult situations/clients. A good point was made in the article just read “Creating A Site Plan.” Asking a client, “What is your site goal?” Is just too broad of a question that most clients aren’t really prepared for. The word choice isn’t the wisest. That’s more of a tool you use for yourself. You can’t skip the step of gathering the clients needs. Otherwise, what’s the point of even meeting with them? You could just throw it together in a pretty aspect and present it how it is. Life would be easier, but it wouldn’t keep you in business. There are so many tools available to help you better grasp your target points.

The reality is that you can’t please everyone. You can try your best, that’s for sure. In my head I see everything as building blocks… If you run into a gap then you have to shift the blocks of your structure to accomodate what needs to be filled or in some cases taken away. You “shift the blocks,” in simple words, you change the plan. Some sites may be too difficult to clearly organize  or too dry to even plan toward in my opinion, but having a plan alone keeps the client interested and secure. They believe you are taking them seriously and aren’t scared of what may come because they already have that idea in mind. Communication for me has always been important in any kind of relationship. It holds the key to progressing, PERIOD. I don’t see why anyone would just jump into a job like that if they didn’t have a plan. School has a plan, you learn from life and although its not a firm plan, you have some kind of structure you go by.

I agree, without planing things get a little more complicated since you don’t know which direction to take. We have to come out with solutions for our clients, they have ideas, we should have solutions and a plan.
