XHTML & CSS

I guess I never really saw HTML and CSS are two separate things because I always used them together to design my pages. I wouldn’t add too many things. I’m more of a basic person but I always enjoyed being able to manipulate codes and making things look attractive. I’ve always heard of of XHTML but had no clue as to what it actually means. The letters XML are apparent but they can really stand for anything nowadays. What seemed so simple in the passed now seems more complicated to me just because it now looks so foreign. I think back and realize that any code usually seems foreign to me so I can probably adjust quite well. Bad code has always been thrown around but is more emphasized now because there are actual standards in place to regulate just how things are supposed to look. Any flaw and you’re design will go nowhere. Our standards are bascially there to make sure everyone can see the same thing… there are so many ways to view pages now that you have to pick a format otherwise there will be lots of jibberish to some. It’s not like it’s against the law to format it youself but just won’t be your real work of art if others can’t see it that way. What I did grasp is that since there are actually XHTML guidelines, you can catch on to mistakes quicker. I think my favorite letter combination has to be CSS though… it has always been my favorite to use and play with. I can usually find myself going back and forth trying to get it all right, not that its really complicated.
